Courtyard Meeting (Uthan Boithok) at Khulna

The ๐‘๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ข ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ is one of the most marginalized groups in Bangladesh, traditionally engaged in leather work such as cobbling and day labor. Despite their significant contributions to the economy and society, they continue to live in poverty and social isolation.ย 

๐€๐๐”๐Š๐”๐‹ has recently held a ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฒ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  (๐”๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ง ๐๐จ๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ค) ๐ข๐ง ๐‘๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐š, ๐†๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐ข, ๐Š๐ก๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ง๐š on domestic violence, women’s rights, and legal and social support services, bringing together women from the marginalized community.ย  The session was hosted by ๐Š๐š๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ค ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ญ๐š, ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‡๐‘ ๐š๐ญ ๐€๐๐”๐Š๐”๐‹ and supported by ๐‘๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐š๐ก๐š๐ฅ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก.

The discussions were directed on understanding the different forms of domestic violence and its consequences, women’s rights & available legal & social support. Participants expressed that economic struggles often prevent them from seeking justice or initiating legal proceedings, yet they remain committed to learning skills and becoming economically independent. The session also emphasized the importance of standing by women who experience violence and raise awareness throughout the community. The courtyard meeting (Uthan Boithok) was an important step toward unity, empowerment, and building safe, respectful lives in Marginalized community.
