On the occasion of International Human Rights Day 2025 (10 December), the human rights organization Odhikar organized a discussion meeting to examine the prevailing human rights situation in Bangladesh.
A delegation from ANUKUL (Action for Non-Violence, Upliftment, Kindness and Universal Love Society) participated in the discussion, consisting of ๐๐. ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐ฌ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ, Founder and President of ANUKUL, and ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐๐, Member of the Governing Body.
The meeting was moderated by ๐๐๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ง ๐
๐๐ก๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐, Campaign and Advocacy Director of Odhikar, and brought together speakers from diverse professional and experiential backgrounds. Speakers from diverse backgrounds came together to share their experiences from the previous regime and to discuss the current human rights situation.

๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ง, a survivor of enforced disappearance and Founder of United for the Victims of Enforced Disappearance (UVED); ๐.๐.๐. ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ข๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง, Director of Odhikar, along with other human rights defenders and advocates.
During the discussion, ๐๐. ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐ฌ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ, Founder of ANUKUL, addressed the issue of gender-based violence, highlighting it as the worldโs most widespread human rights violation. He shared ANUKULโs ongoing initiatives and advocacy efforts aimed at preventing domestic violence and supporting survivors, reaffirming the organizationโs commitment to promoting dignity, safety, and justice for women and girls.
The discussion concluded with a collective call for the protection of human rights, justice for victims, and the establishment of a democratic and accountable state system in Bangladesh.
